Job Description

 

The Communication Director manages the organization’s internal and external communications. This includes crafting strategic messaging, overseeing public relations efforts, and ensuring consistent brand voice across all platforms (Digital/Electronic/Print). The Director also handles media relations, crisis communication, and often acts as the spokesperson for the organization. His / Her role is pivotal in shaping the public perception of the organization.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

    • Provide strategic leadership in designing and implementing comprehensive communication, marketing, and public relations strategies that support the provincial government’s health related priorities and contribute to enhancement of PHIMC’s public image.
    • Develop short and long-term communication plans and budgets, monitor progress, ensure adherence, and evaluate effectiveness.
    • Anticipate emerging issues and challenges, and collaborate with leadership to define proactive strategies and solutions.
    • Create and execute a strategic internal communication plan that fosters transparency, reinforces organizational values, and drives employee engagement.
    • Develop impactful external communication programs, including brand integration initiatives, digital campaigns, and new product/service announcements.
    • Oversee diligent management of the organization’s social media pages for timely dissemination of information/achievements/policies in addition to regular moderation
    • Lead the development and distribution of communication materials, publications, and media content to ensure consistency of message and alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for media relations, ensuring strong relationships with media outlets and consistent messaging.
    • Design and implement public awareness campaigns at provincial and district levels to promote PHIMC’s initiatives using all the available platforms (Digital/Electronic/Print/Outdoor).
    • Oversee all public relations activities, including community outreach, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Establish and monitor metrics and benchmarks to evaluate communication effectiveness and enhance visibility of progress.
    • Stay informed about trends in communications particularly digital media, marketing, public relations, and not-for-profit governance, applying insights to drive innovation.
    • Lead, mentor, and support the communications team to deliver on organizational priorities.
    • Coordinate with field teams and provide training to district health entities for effective communication plan implementation.
    • Assist in policy formulation to ensure integrity and transparency in all communication practices.
    • Develop systems and procedures to ensure the effective operation of the communication wing/department of PHIMC.
    • Gather and analyze feedback from stakeholders to assess program quality and organizational effectiveness.
    • Develop presentations/strategic messaging for the CEO office.

Qualification:

Master’s degree in Mass Communication / Master’s degree in Media & Communication Studies / Master’s degree in Journalism / Master’s degree in Marketing / Master’s degree in Advertising / Master’s degree in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing from HEC recognized institute or an equivalent degree from a reputable foreign institution. Familiarity with latest media and digital technologies, content writing and their use in public sector entities would be expected.

 

Experience:

Minimum 8 years of Communication experience in a well-known & established public / private sector organization, out of which minimum 2 years of experience as Head of Communication / Head of Digital Media / Head of PR.

 

Age limit:

Not more than 62 years on the last date of receipt of the application.
