Punjab Power Development Company Limited (PPDCL) is a public-sector company under the Energy Department, Government of Punjab. Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities of PPDCL:

1. Power Project Development: Plan, develop, and implement power generation projects across Punjab, including renewable and conventional energy sources.
2. Investment Facilitation: Promote and facilitate public and private investment in the energy sector.
3. Energy Infrastructure Enhancement: Upgrade and expand energy infrastructure to ensure reliable electricity supply.
4. Sustainability and Innovation: Encourage sustainable energy practices and adoption of innovative technologies.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with national and provincial regulations and standards.
6. Project Management: Oversee feasibility studies, execution, and monitoring of energy projects.
7. Policy Support: Assist the Energy Department in policy formulation and strategic planning for the power sector.
8. Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with government agencies, private sector partners, and international organizations for energy development initiatives.

 

Required Qualifications:

The candidate must possess at least a Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering. A Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an HEC-recognized university will be considered an added advantage.

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

• Civil Engineering Experience: A minimum of 8 years in the field of civil engineering, including at least 4 years in hydropower construction, development, and generation projects.
• Project Management Expertise: Proven experience in project management, including preparation of scopes of work for construction or rehabilitation of civil structures at power plants and associated infrastructure.
• Tender Documentation: Hands-on experience in preparing tender documents for construction or rehabilitation works of civil structures within power complexes.
• Budgeting and Technical Approvals: Ability to prepare detailed budget breakdowns for all costs and expenses associated with unscheduled major repairs of civil and hydraulic structures, and to secure technical sanction from the relevant authority.
• Civil Construction Knowledge: Familiarity with civil construction design, construction methodologies, applicable codes, and the MRS Rate System.
• Hydraulic Operations Understanding: Knowledge of irrigation canal operations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the operation and regulation of spillway gates.
